The Situation Awareness Specialist® - Advanced Practitioner (SAS-AP) professional certificate course emphasizes the application of situational awareness concepts and skills to specific security, law enforcement, counter-crime and counter-terrorism topics and issues. Due the nature of the training topics, the SAS-AP course will not be offered to the general public as an open offering but will be provided to applicants with specific experience and knowledge in security, military, and law enforcement applications.

NOTE: The SAS-AP course is comprised of a comprehensive and compressed curriculum. Included as mandatory items are course pre-reading material, case study reading with a prerequisite quiz, and essay analysis examination. There is a considerable failure rate on first attempt, and we encourage participants to be honest with their background submission, and to engage the SAS-AP process with a commitment to preparation.

Graduate of SAS Certificate Program:
AP program candidates should be graduates of our SAS level training in good standing and have a minimum of three (3) years practice to better construct the AP disciplines upon the SAS foundation.
Have at least one of the following qualifications:

- Law Enforcement: Demonstrated experience/service as a sworn law enforcement officer (includes Corrections, Federal, Tribal, National Police and Investigator experience).
- Private Security Contractors: individuals with demonstrated experience who have served in security positions in low intensity conflict areas, high threat areas, or declared war zones (to include static security positions, mobile security escorts, and protective operations).
- Security Professionals: individuals with demonstrated experience in strategic, operational and management security. Individuals in this category will have experience or a combination of experience in risk management, physical security, investigations, personnel security, facility security, industrial security, conducting analytical threat assessments and other positions that engage in work relating to criminal or terrorist threats.
- Executive Protection/Protective Operations: individuals with demonstrated domestic or overseas experience providing protective services coupled with advanced training from a recognized EP school.
- Military: current or former military members with Military Operational Specialties or experience relating to Security, Law Enforcement, Counterintelligence, Counterterrorism, or who have served in special operations units.
