FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- What is a Situation Awareness Specialist®? A SAS is a person that has dedicated considerable effort and time to learning and expanding the craft of situational awareness and uses it in an operational setting.
- Will this training make me an expert in situational awareness? No. Training in situation awareness alone will not make you an expert. Any company claiming to make you an expert in situation awareness with their training is misleading you. Throughout your career, an ongoing evolution will take place in utilizing and developing your situational awareness skills as an expertise.
- How will this certificate help my career? Marketing yourself is everything. If you broadcast your training credential and are able to articulate how the craft and your training enhances your capability, then you are on your way. Situational awareness is an evolving discipline and requires constant practice and attention to detail. If you show your level of alert and commitment to threat mitigation, then the certificate will compliment your efforts by putting a credential on paper to go with your training. It is up to you to get your credential out there and make it valuable in your career.
- I have been working in the security industry for years, so why do I need this certificate? You do not need this certificate. This certificate is for those that seek certification as a professional development tool and for recognition for their dedication to the craft and overall mission of security services to detect, deter, protect and report. This certificate indicates to professionals in your industry that you have taken steps beyond the average person to seek a higher state of awareness to the events unfolding around you.
